Scarlett's StoryI consider the MNRI® team my friends as their sacrifice to bring this healing method to the world speaks to their personal integrity and dedication to heal the world from the terrible trauma that results from disasters that occur every day
The Sandy Hook Tragedy and MNRI in Newtown, Connecticut
An unspeakable tragedy occurred in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012. Among the 20 innocent lives lost was Scarlett Lewis’ son, Jesse Lewis. Scarlett, a single mother of two young boys described the immediate aftermath of the tragedy as an overwhelming feeling of shock, horror, immeasurable loss and sadness. She says, “My remaining son and I were both severely traumatized by the nature of the loss of our beloved Jesse and also from our experience.”
Even during the darkest times, there are those who selflessly rise to the occasion to help others and to serve those who need it most. Dr. Svetlana Masgutova and her MNRI team formed the Expedition to Newtown, where they volunteered their time and expertise to help the community heal.
Scarlett Lewis and her son received several MNRIpattern integration treatments by Dr. Masgutova. The team’s patient explanation, both in practice and theory of her body’s reaction to the trauma, including sleeplessness, agitation, depression, memory issues and inability to focus, was her brain reacting to the trauma. The team worked with the pathways of primary reflexes of the brain, using their noninvasive techniques, to integrate the issues and empower her to begin the process of healing.
Scarlett describes the MNRI team as incredible, compassionate specialists who are responsive, knowledgeable and adept at their process. She credits their professional demeanor as immediately putting her and even more so, her son who had trepidation of more strangers, at ease.
She says, “MNRI has allowed my son and I to move past the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of trauma and loss now and has enabled us to re-enter life as productive and well adjusted people. Both my son and I have been able to step outside our own pain and be in service to others, which has expanded our healing... that I credit MNRI, Dr. Svetlana, and her team for cultivating and then helpingto flourish”.
The MNRImethod and its ability to connect with the brain and to counteract the negative affects of trauma have had a tremendous impact on Scarlett and her son’s healing and ability to move forward with their lives. “I consider the MNRIteam my friends as their sacrifice to bring this healing method to the world speaks to their personal integrity and dedication to heal the world from the terrible trauma that results from disasters that occur every day”.
