MNRI® Trauma and Non-Fatal Drowning Recovery Family Conference

MNRI® Trauma and Non-Fatal Drowning Recovery Family Conference is open to children, teenagers, and adults who have experienced a non-fatal drowning accident.

This conference is the most comprehensive MNRI® option available to anyone suffering from the effects of a non-fatal drowning accident including reactivation of primitive reflexes, mixture of primitive and aquatic reflexes, post-traumatic stress, dysregulation of muscle tone and sensory systems, loss of gravity awareness, loss of skills, and anxiety/frustration related to the loss of those skills. In addition to the expertise of Dr. Masgutova, certified MNRI® Core Specialists will provide 4 hours of MNRI® sessions followed by a 1-hour parent lecture/training during each conference day.

Each participant will have an MNRI® Core Specialist assigned to them as their point person during this conference. Throughout the conference parents and caregivers receive significant exposure to MNRI® techniques and receive instruction from the certified MNRI® Core Specialists during each of the different MNRI® program sessions on how to carry on treatment at home.

Each participant will also receive an MNRI® Reflex Evaluation by Dr. Masgutova and will receive a home program to continue the development and integration of the MNRI® programs and reflexes identified at the conference at home.

Conference Focus:

This conference is specifically designed to be of assistance to children, teenagers, and adults who have suffered a non-fatal drowning accident by working through the reflexes of the brain. Each of the 5 days will consist of 2 typical MNRI sessions, 2 sessions directed specifically to trauma and the MNRI® drowning recovery protocol, and 1 group session of a guided hands-on parent and child training lecture where the parent will gain more information on the effects drowning has on primitive reflexes and their recovery.

4 hours of MNRI® sessions and 1 hour of parent lecture/training with their child their identified client.

Each participant will receive an MNRI® Reflex Evaluation by Dr. Masgutova. Parents and caregivers will be instructed in the MNRI® processes and primary reflexes based on their individual assessment during the conference for carryover of the home program.

Participants attending the 5-day conference are provided:

  • A formal in-depth Reflex Assessment by Dr. Svetlana Masgutova

  • 4 different MNRI® program sessions each conference day, each session 50 minutes long, followed by 1 hour of parent lecture/training based on the MNRI Drowning Recovery protocol.

MNRI® Conference Resources:

  • Dr. Masgutova -- Conducts an in-depth conference assessment and provides additional session support and consultation as needed to address a child’s specific challenges.
  • Certified Core Specialists -- lead daily scheduled program sessions.  Consult Dr. Masgutova and engage the services of both Dr. Masgutova and Certified MNRI® Students as needed to address each child’s specific challenges.
  • Certified MNRI® Cores-in-Training -- help guide and mentor parents through the conference process and support Core Specialists as needed.

SMEI/Masgutova Foundation Cancellation and Refund Policy

MNRI Family Conferences are staffed by a diverse field of professionals who have been certified as Core Specialists. Many of these professionals run their own practice in addition to assisting us. As such, some conferences may have a limited number of staff.

In order to provide the best service possible for our families, we limit the ratio of Client to Specialist to 1|1.

With our desire to maintain a high level of service, cancellation of registrants may occur if there are not enough Staff. Registrants will be informed of this 10 days before the event takes place. If MNRI is forced to cancel any registrants, a full refund of the conference fees will be given. Cancellations will be offered first on a voluntary basis. If there are not enough volunteers, cancellation protocol will be enacted starting with the most recent registrants.

Full refunds will be given for registration cancellation up to 21 days prior to the conference.
Deposits will not be refunded for cancellation 11-20 days prior to the conference.
Cancellation within 10 days of the conference is non-refundable due to the financial commitments that the organization has made to hotels, travel expenses and salaries of Core Specialists from around the world.

We recommend that attendees who will be flying do not purchase their flight until after the 10-day window has elapsed to avoid a nonrefundable circumstance with the airline. SMEI/Masgutova Foundation is not liable for any ticket costs related to the course being canceled. SMEI/Masgutova Foundation is not liable for any costs related to transportation (airline tickets, train, taxi, etc) due to the cancellation of an event.

* A 2.5% transaction fee (processing fee) will be withheld on all refunds that were processed using credit card/Pay Pal. If a participant wishes the refund to be paid directly to their account via credit card/Pay Pal, the participant will be charged an additional 2.5% transaction fee (processing fee). Refund by check is available upon request.
