About the Event
Archetype reflexive movements are among the first movements to develop and emerge in utero. Archetype movements remain active in the body throughout life, enabling range and flexibility of motion, and the ability of a person to move through different body planes. The exercises aim to activate and engage archetype movements that have not emerged or need support.
REPLAY: Join Physical Therapist, Masgutova Graduate School Professor, and MNRI Core Specialist + Instructor Isabelle Renard-Fontaine on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM ET for Archetype Movements.
In this 1-hour previously recorded Zoom session, the Archetype Motor Movement Exercises aim to help promote NeuroReflex Integration and otherwise support balance, stability, and motion through:
Core Limbs Flexion-Extension
Mouth-Spine Rotation
Trunk Extension
Homologous Movements
Lateral Spine Flexion-Extension
Cross-Lateral Movements
Intentional Movements
These Archetype reflex movements play a subordinate role in the maturation of more complex reflex schemes, including primary motor reflex patterns, motor reflex schemes, and the development of learned motor skills.
